The Youth Interns discuss important topics for them such as green space, littering, youth centers, and gentrifications.
The Youth interns shared about what the issue meant for them. Beginning by narrowing down which issue they will choose for their peace talk. Then choosing one that the youth interns can discuss and address. Majority of the youth interns chose gentrification and one intern chose trash/littering. They shared how they may have experienced or seen gentrification occur in their life. For instance, One youth intern shared that they lost connection with their friend due to her having to move away because her family lost her home. In this youth discussion we discuss the importance of understanding an issue and addressing it to the audience. While also sharing how we may have seen it affect our lives or those around us.
